Medicinal Uses
Banana for Mosquito bites
Rub the affected area with the inside of a banana skin to reducing swelling and irritation.
Inga edulis for coughing and sores on lips
Crushed (boil down) leaves of Inga edulis are drunk to relieve coughing and applied to sores on lips
Pomegranate as an antiseptic
The rind of the fruit is used as an antiseptic in episodes of gingivitis, stomatitis, pyorrhea, tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
Remedies: Boil 100 grams of pomegranate rind in 4 cups of water. Use this infusion to brush teeth every morning to treat gum inflammation and purulent infections.
Boil the rind of the fruit and rinse mouth with this infusion 2 to 3 times a day to disinfect tonsils and throat.
Boil the rind of the fruit and rinse mouth with this infusion 2 to 3 times a day to treat canker sores.
Zizyphus jujuba for Diabetes
The leaves of Zizyphus jujuba are plucked and chewed by diabetic patient to decrease sugar level.
Avocado for high blood pressure, to lower cholesterol and high blood sugar
The leaves from the avocado Persea americana tree is diuretic.
Three leaves are boiled in three and one half cups of water for three or four minutes then left to steep for two or three minutes. When it has cooled the three cups can be strained and stored it the refrigerator.
Dosage: Drink three cups of the boiled avocado leaves per day.
Bixa orellana for stomach ulcer or peptic ulcer
The seeds are removed from the pods. The red paste which surrounds the seeds is washed off and the seeds are then dried. Three dried seeds are ground and added to the food in the morning and three more to the food in the evening. The dried ground seeds are eaten for two weeks.

For most people this simple remedy is so good that they will no longer be bothered by their stomach ulcer. It is well accepted that most stomach ulcers are caused by a bacteria. The name of the bacteria is Helicobacter pyloi. Most doctors use antibiotics to treat stomach ulcers.
Lansium domesticum (Langsat) for Bleeding diarrhoea, scorpian bites and Malaria
Bark of wood and skin of fruits contains lansium acid.
Melastoma malabathricum (Senduduk) for cuts
Chew on the leaves and place the paste on the cut.
